Get ready to delve into the captivating world of crackle polymer clay creations! Did you know there are many ways to create a crackle look with polymer clay? This month, Lisa will be showing us how to use only polymer clay to create a fascinating crackle surface.
Before our meeting, please prepare your crackle layer following these simple steps:
⏰ Do Ahead:
Prepare the Crackle Layer:
- Roll out a piece of clay (any color but should contrast nicely with your chosen background) on the thinnest setting of your pasta machine.
- Place the clay between two pieces of white printer paper and burnish.
- Run the clay, still sandwiched between the paper, through the thinnest setting of the pasta machine again.
- Leave the clay between the two pieces of paper for 12 to 24 hours to dry out.
🌈Background Clay:
We’ll create our background clay during the meeting. You can use a solid color, scraps, or make a Skinner blend. Ensure the background clay is rolled out on the thickest setting of your pasta machine.
