November 2022 Meeting: Apoxie Sculpt and Dazzle Dust

This month our meeting will feature two demos presented by Tom where he will show us some of the uses for these products.
The Meeting will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:30 pm CT at Betty’s house, 6712 Randi Rd, Oklahoma City, OK. (see map below)

Apoxie Sculpt
First is Apoxie Sculpt, a two part sculpting medium that combines the features and benefits of sculpting clay with the adhesive power of epoxy! Its smooth, putty-like consistency is easy to mix & use. Self-hardens (No Baking); cures hard in 24 hrs., semi-gloss finish. Adheres to nearly any surface. Great for sculpting, embellishing, bonding and filling most anything. Accepts paints, stains, mica powders & more for a variety of finishing options.
Dazzle Dust
Second is Dazzle Dust a heat set powder coat sealer for metal, clay or anything that can be heated to 300F. Dip or pour powder on hot item – baked clay or metal charms etc
Supplies
No tools or supplies needed this month since this is a demo only but feel free to bring a project to work on. There will be plenty of time to enjoy working on projects together.
October 2022 Meeting: Chrismons

Next Guild Meeting: Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 1:30 pm CT at Betty’s house, 6712 Randi Rd, Oklahoma City, OK (see map below)
By special request, we will be making Chrismons, a word that is short for Christ Monograms. They are special Christmas ornaments that are symbols of Christ created in white and gold. The class will be taught by Betty. There are a wide variety and she will have many to choose from. Just bring your imagination and creativity along with the following supplies and tools.

Supplies
- White or Pearl Clay, at least one block
- Gold Clay (optional)
- Something gold to trim your Chrismon with. This could be any of the following. (Note: Silver can also be used as well as a tiny bit of red/green, but gold is the primary color.)
- Acrylic paint
- Mica powder (such as PearlEx)
- Glitter
- Inka-Gold
- Gilder’s Paste
- Seed Beads
- Gold & Pearl beads
Etc.
Tools
- Pasta machine
- Acrylic roller
- Exacto knife
- Scissors
- Needle tool or toothpick for making a hole
- Patterns (provided for those who attend in person)
- Quilting template plastic (provided for those who attend in person)
- Any other tools you think you might want or need!

September 2022 Meeting with Syndee Holt

Big news this month! We are excited to have Syndee Holt as our special guest artist via Zoom! She will be sharing a technique she calls 5 Minute Moku as well as her Tips, Tricks, and Toys. If you’ve ever had a class with Syndee, you know she is a lot of fun and has lots of tips and tricks up her sleeve.
Also, we are back to meeting at Betty’s house for now where we have a large TV for viewing Syndee’s demos. Meanwhile, Connie and Marc have been exploring a new meeting place. We hope to know something about that soon.

Supply List
- 3 or 4 colors of clay. Light, dark, medium.
- Acrylic roller or wooden dowel around same size
- Clay blade, pasta machine
- Couple small sheets of paper
- Cutter of any shape. Syndee uses a rectangle.
August 2022 Meeting: Lace and Painting with Polymer Clay

For our meeting this month, Connie is going to show us two simple but fun techniques: Polymer Clay Lace and Painterly Earrings: Painting with Polymer Clay. The meeting will be held on August 20, 2022 at 1:30 pm. We will meet at Crown Heights Church of the Nazarene, 920 NW 46th Street, OKC. See map below.

Three colors of clay such as red, blue, yellow
Translucent liquid clay
Two to three ceramic tiles. One for mixing clay and one to bake on
White clay: conditioned and rolled on a number 3
Palette knife or some kind of tool to mix.
Normal supplies – work surface and cutting blade, paper towels, wipes, etc. This is a messy project!

July 2022 Meeting: Faux Stained Glass

Marc is going to teach us how to make faux stained glass that we can use in polymer clay projects. Let your imagination run as you explore the many ways you can incorporate this idea into your next project.
Items marked will be provided to those attending the class in person. If you are joining us via Zoom and have any questions regarding the supplies needed, please contact us at the link above. We will answer your questions as quickly as possible.

1mm thick Plexiglas (provided)
Golf club tape or Lead foil adhesive backed tape (available at Amazon)
*Gallery Glass paint (1 or more colors of your choice)
*Note: You can use as many colors as you desire or go for a clear no color look.
Tools
Metal straight edge ruler
Xacto knife
Small green self-healing cutting mat if you have one
Toothpick
Small paint brush
