The Central Oklahoma Polymer Clay Guild was formed in 2006 by a group of folks who love polymer clay. Our goal is to have a fun, supportive environment where members can enjoy learning about and playing with clay. We enjoy the inspiration that the regular meetings and swaps give us — it’s a great excuse to challenge ourselves and experiment. Clay-ers of every experience level are welcome, even beginners! We love sharing our passion for polymer clay!
Monthly Meetings
The group meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1401 NW 25th St. (map) OKC. Park on the west side and enter through the double glass doors (entry code available upon request). We meet downstairs in the basement. There is an elevator for anyone who has difficulty maneuvering stairs. Please contact us if you need help.
These monthly meetings often focus on a single project, with members (or sometimes outside teachers) giving the lesson. Meeting announcements and supply lists are generally posted on this website at least a week before the meeting. Like our Facebook page and join our Facebook group to ensure you get meeting reminders.
In addition to the lesson, our monthly meetings also feature a show-and-tell time where members can share their latest creations. On alternating months, we hold a drawing, and once per quarter, we swap inchies, both of which are completely optional. On swap months, the themes are winter, spring, summer, and fall. On drawing months, the winners of the previous drawing are asked to bring a prize (this can be something like a tool/supply, a book, or even something handmade). Everyone who wants to take part can buy tickets, then deposit their ticket stubs in the container associated with the prize they hope to win. Proceeds go towards the group’s expenses, such as room rental and library.
We occasionally have 5th Saturday Play Days on months with 5 Saturdays. These are a little less structured — a chance to just play with clay with other group members.
Yearly Retreat
Each year, we hold a 3-day retreat where folks can “play in clay all day!” Retreats are open to both members and non-members, but spots are limited. You can learn more about this year’s retreat here.
Come Visit!
Guests are welcome to attend a couple of meetings before joining. All guests/members who are under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
